The van: Toyota HiAce
The client asked the New Zealand Syncro System branch to upfit this mid-sized van made by the Japanese car manufacturer, Toyota – the historic HiAce with lift up rear door. The client works in the large crane sector: assembly, servicing, overhaul and disassembly, and needed to transform his commercial vehicle into a functional mobile workshop, capable of providing on-site technical support to workers in any kind of logistic situation. Let's see what upfitting solutions Syncro System technicians came up with to perfectly meet this client's requirements.
Protecting the van's interior
The Syncro technicians, first studied the cargo space of this exemplary Toyota HiAce model. After the upfit project was designed, the actually installation began.
The first step was to ensure that the van floor was protected. To do this, they installed a wooden anti-slip floor panel, guaranteeing long-term durability even with heavy use. The protection of the body is key to any upfit. In fact, with the installation of Syncro protective paneling, the van can go damage free for years to come.
The nuts and bolts of the upfit
Syncro technicians focused the bulk of their attention on the left side of the Toyota van. At the base of the left-hand side racking units were two wheel arch frame bases (one open and one closed). A workbench with vice was mounted next to them, as well as several drawers, a portable tool case tray and finally several shelves of varying sizes.
On the right side, where there is less space due to the van's side door, once again the technicians began by installing a wheel arch frame base on which were mounted several shelves (some open, some closed), and a van locker with interior horizontal dividers and rubber mats.
